Postrly — Privacy Policy

Postrly (“the app”, “we”) is a macOS utility that uses your Mac’s camera to remind you about your sitting posture while you work. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with your data and what it does not do.

In one line: camera frames never leave your Mac.

1. What we collect — and what we do not collect

We do not collect any personal data from you. Specifically:

• The app does not create an account, ask for an email, or ask for any identifier.
• The app does not send any data to any server operated by us, the developer, or any third party.
• The app does not include any analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or attribution SDKs.
• The app does not track you across apps or websites.

While monitoring is active, Postrly accesses your Mac’s built-in or connected camera and analyzes your head posture in real time on this device using Apple’s Vision framework. The app looks at three things: how far you are tilting your head down, how far you are tilting your head sideways, and how close your face is to the camera.

• Camera frames are processed in memory and discarded immediately.
• Camera frames are never saved to disk, never screenshotted, never recorded, and never transmitted.
• The app does not extract or store any biometric identifier, face print, or recognizable image of you.
• When you pause monitoring or quit the app, the camera stops immediately.

2. What is stored locally on your Mac

The app stores the following on your Mac, in its own sandboxed storage, and uses it only for the app’s own features:

• First-launch timestamp (used to compute how many days remain in the 3-day free trial).
• Subscription receipt (managed by Apple StoreKit; the receipt is issued and verified by Apple, not by us).
• Your preferences — reminder frequency, launch-at-login setting, onboarding-completed flag.

This information stays on your Mac. It is not transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes this local storage.

3. Notifications

After you grant notification permission, Postrly posts standard macOS notifications only when poor posture or prolonged sitting is detected. Notifications contain no advertising and no third-party content, and are never used for marketing.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Postrly never receives or stores your payment information, billing address, or Apple ID.

• A 3-day free trial starts on first launch of the app.
• After the trial, a Monthly or Yearly subscription is required to keep monitoring active.
• To view, manage, or cancel a subscription: open System Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or the Subscriptions section of the App Store app. Cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current billing period.

5. Permissions we request

• Camera: required for posture monitoring. Only used when monitoring is active. You can revoke this at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
• Notifications: required for reminder banners. You can revoke this at any time in System Settings → Notifications.

If you revoke either permission, the related feature simply stops; no data is affected.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect any personal data from any user.

7. Third parties

Postrly does not integrate any third-party SDK for analytics, advertising, attribution, A/B testing, crash reporting, or remote configuration. The only network interaction is the standard StoreKit communication between your Mac and Apple to validate your subscription; this is handled by Apple, not by us.

8. Your rights

You can at any time:

• Revoke camera or notification permission in System Settings.
• Cancel your subscription through the App Store.
• Uninstall the app, which removes its local storage from your Mac.

Because the app does not collect personal data from you, there is no data for us to export, correct, or delete on our side.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the effective date at the top and post the new version at the same URL. The embedded copy inside the app will also be updated in the next app release.
