Postrly — Support & FAQ

Welcome. If something isn’t working, or you just want to check how Postrly handles a specific situation, you’ll probably find the answer below. If not, email us at liberhome@163.com and we’ll get back to you within a few business days.

Permissions

Why does Postrly need camera access?

Posture detection runs on your Mac’s built-in or connected camera. Apple’s Vision framework analyzes the video stream locally to estimate head-down angle, sideways head tilt, and how close your face is to the screen. Without camera access, Postrly has nothing to watch and cannot remind you.

Camera frames are analyzed in memory and discarded. They are never saved, screenshotted, or transmitted.

I denied camera access by mistake. How do I enable it?

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera, find Postrly in the list, and turn the toggle on. You may need to quit and relaunch Postrly for the change to take effect.

Why does Postrly ask for notification permission?

Reminders (“sit up”, “look up”, “take a short break”) are delivered through standard macOS notifications. If you deny notification permission, Postrly will still detect poor posture, but you won’t see the banners.

To enable notifications later: System Settings → Notifications → Postrly.

Can I use Postrly without granting camera permission?

No. The app’s single job is posture detection from a live camera stream. Without camera access, there is nothing for it to do.

Subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Postrly. To cancel:

  1. Open System Settings (or Settings on macOS 13+).
  2. Click your name at the top.
  3. Choose Media & Purchases → Manage → Subscriptions.
  4. Select Postrly and tap Cancel Subscription.

Alternatively, open the App Store app, click your account icon, then Manage under Subscriptions.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You’ll keep full features until then.

I cancelled during the free trial. Will I be charged?

No. If you cancel before the 3-day trial ends, you will not be charged. The trial simply stops at the scheduled end date.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Postrly purchase, and follow the refund flow.

I reinstalled Postrly and the free trial doesn’t restart. Why?

The 3-day free trial is tied to your Apple ID, not to the app installation, and is offered once per account. Reinstalling, deleting app data, or switching Macs does not reset it. This is standard App Store behavior and applies to most macOS and iOS apps.

If you believe there’s a billing error, contact Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Using Postrly

The menu bar icon is there, but I’m not getting any reminders.

Check the following in order:

  1. Is monitoring active? Click the menu bar icon and confirm it shows a live status, not “Paused”.
  2. Is notification permission granted? See the section above.
  3. Is Do Not Disturb / a Focus filter on? macOS will silently suppress notifications while a Focus is active. Check the Control Center.
  4. Is your face clearly visible? Postrly needs a clean view of your head. Very low light, a hat pulled down, or being far off-camera can all cause detection to skip frames.

Postrly keeps reminding me even when I feel fine.

Open the main window and adjust Reminder frequency to a longer cooldown (5, 10, or 30 minutes). If it still feels too eager, email us a quick description of your setup — we’d genuinely like to know.

Does Postrly work with an external camera?

Yes. Any camera that macOS recognizes (built-in FaceTime, external USB webcam, iPhone Continuity Camera) will work. Postrly uses whichever camera macOS assigns as the default.

Does it keep watching while I’m on a video call?

Postrly shares the camera with other apps the same way any macOS app does. If another app has exclusive camera access, Postrly will pause detection until the camera becomes available again. There’s no conflict — the other app simply wins.

Privacy

Are any of my camera frames uploaded?

No. Every frame is analyzed on your Mac by Apple’s Vision framework and immediately discarded. Postrly has no server, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. See the Privacy Policy for the full statement.

What data leaves my Mac?

Only the standard StoreKit traffic that Apple uses to validate your subscription. That’s handled entirely by Apple, not by Postrly.
